We've had a very busy but happy year. Tyler continues to have good checkups with the doctor and is now a sophomore in high school. He will be getting his drivers license soon so watch out!

Steve is still the bishop of the MU2 ward and enjoys every moment of his calling. Debbie started a new position this summer and is enjoying the challenges associated with a new job. She's in the same department but with a lot more responsibilities. Our other children are all doing well and we are very proud of all of them. We love getting the whole family together whenever we can.

Merry Christmas!

Palmyra, Kirtland, Cleveland, and Niagra Falls Trip 9/08

One might ask, "When do we find time to work?"
Well, work is boring and traveling is much more fun, and..... Debbie gets a break from cooking and cleaning. Work will always be waiting for us when we get back. Enjoy the vacation pics.

Steve and Debbie at the Palmyra temple
with the Sared Grove in the background

Debbie at a quite spot in the Sacred Grove.

Steve and Debbie at Hill Cumorah.

OOPS, we cut off angel Moroni. He's the tall guy on top.

And then we were off to the Erie Canal. Doesn't look so eerie to me, just really dirty.

Inside the Smith family home in Palmyra
with all of the modern conveniences.

I think I'll get one of these for home.

Then we were off like a herd of turtles to Kirtland.

Debbie and sister Glo at the quarry where the stone was cut for the Kirtland temple.

Man, there's some really old stuff here in Kirtland.

Here is the whole vacation gang at the Whitney home where Joseph & Emma Smith lived for a time. Many revelations in the
D & C were given here.

Debbie doing some shopping at te Whitney store.
They didn't have the the Gucci purse she was looking for.
She did find some lovely horseshoe earings, however.
I guess the girls know what they are getting for Christmas.

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio.

I gotta get me one of these.

Niagra Falls on the Canadian side with Horseshoe Falls in the background

I wish they would turn it off for a minute.

The mist makes it hard to take a picture of the falls.

Debbie and big brother Larry. All dressed up and no where to go but into the falls.

Finally, our last stop to Old Fort Niagra, the oldest original standing building in North America with some very old and tired sitting north americans.

We had a blast but were glad to get back home to the dogs and the kid.

Rigby Family reunion 2008 in Banff, Canada

Debbie and the female-in-laws on top of the world in Banff, Canada.
Aren't they a good lookin' bunch and so young looking.

We finally got Tyler to smile.
He must be hiding something from mom and dad or he just saw a cute girl.

The boys and grampas at Lake Louise.
We couln't find Louise. Check out the legs!!

Brrrrrrrr. Hurray and take the picture, I wore shorts.

And now........Our proudest moments........

Tyler was nominated for the American Legion award in his final year in Jr. high.
Oh, and by the way, Tyler just started drivers ed classes so park your cars in the back yard.

And........our newest grand puppy, Sadie. She's a monster................

.................but she's a cutie.
How I spent part of my summer vacation (by Steve Rigby)

Greetings y'all from almost way down south in Dixie, and yes that is a real river boat on the real Mississippi, river that is. The river cruise was great and the food was awesome.

The business trip (yeah right) would have been more fun with Debbie there instead of hanging around with a bunch of other publishing types talking about boring publishing stuff the whole time. Best part of the trip?....the fried frog legs smothered with lots of butter; no they don't taste like chicken, they taste like............well.........frog legs of course.

You might ask, as I did, what is Beale Street? Well I found out, it's jazz central but in Memphis. No Elvis was not there, he had to mow his lawn that day. My only question is,"what were all of those weird odors in the alleys"? Oh, and the Jazz was pretty good.

According to Dough Boy (the taxi driver) we actually drove by Graceland but no Elvis sightings, at least the real one.

Next trip: Bamff, Canada ehh. We'll post pictures later.

We are looking forward to a slow and lazy summer and hoping to spend a lot of time watching the grass grow, except for a few trips. We will miss all of the families that are graduating and leaving the ward. Good luck and many happy paychecks. We are also excited to welcome new families to the ward this fall.

We had a great trip to Seattle to spend time with Andy, Amanda, and Evelyn. We had a good time at the zoo and aquarium.

Thank goodness for strollers and good walking shoes.

We ran across some distant relatives at the zoo.....
There was a striking likeless to the Rigby boys.

When we are not relaxing we will be spending a week in Seattle for Tyler's one year check-up and then we are off to Banff, Canada for a family reunion. We'll take plenty of photos. Debbie and I are planning to take a self-guided church history tour in the fall with Debbie's family. It sounds great.

The Fun Has Just Begun!

Everyone we know has a blog and we figured it was our turn to create one. We are both busy with work and Tyler is busy with school and looking forward to drivers Ed this summer. He is doing a lot better. Steve is still serving as Bishop and is hoping to stay there forever. Debbie is FINALLY done with school and is glad to have the diploma. Our family is growing, and we hope it continues to grow. We had 3 additions to the family as we had 2 wedding over the summer and one granddaughter.
