Family Update

Apparently we need to update our blog since the babies were born last Fall. Lyndee had Emily on August 29th and Camille had Madison on September 17th. Both little girls are growing up so quickly! This photo shows Madison, Evelyn and Emily last December.

Lyndee, Matt and Emily still live here but Jay, Camille, and Madison moved 3 hours away to Oregon. (sigh!) I'm glad they are still close enough to visit, but not close enough for a lot of Grandma and Grandpa time.

Evelyn is moving with her parents Andy and Amanda to Tennessee! That's a lot further away than what I would like. I was hoping that they would get into grad school in Seattle or somewhere closer! Oh, well! We'll just have to plan some trips to visit them. Evelyn's going to be 3 on July 28th! WOW how time flies!

Mommies and uncle to be!

We are expecting two new grand babies in September, both little girls.
I guess we better get busy sewing and shopping.
Oh and don't forget the new Uncle Tyler.(for the third time)

Just keep trekkin'

In June we went on the stake Pioneer Trek as a Ma and Pa. It was a riot, although it was hot, dusty and windy. Debbie spent weeks making her authentic dress. Steve just went to Goodwill and spent $6.00 for his "outfit". He hates shopping!

From the Brigham Young collection.

Aren't we just the cutest thing you have ever seen?

Our chillens, pushing and pulling for all thet're worth. "Where are Ma & Pa when you need them"?

They were awseome the whole trip.

We thought that we were readyfor everything..........until it came to the walking miles on end and the sleeping outdoors on the hard groundand and the cooking on a camp stove and the dirt and dust and the hot sun, Oh and let's not forget the Womwn's Pull. Other than that it was a breeze.

All of the women folk after the women's Pull. This was the most emptional part of the trek for the guys cause we couldn't help them up the hill.
Yes, we would do it again!!

We've had a very busy but happy year. Tyler continues to have good checkups with the doctor and is now a sophomore in high school. He will be getting his drivers license soon so watch out!

Steve is still the bishop of the MU2 ward and enjoys every moment of his calling. Debbie started a new position this summer and is enjoying the challenges associated with a new job. She's in the same department but with a lot more responsibilities. Our other children are all doing well and we are very proud of all of them. We love getting the whole family together whenever we can.

Merry Christmas!

Palmyra, Kirtland, Cleveland, and Niagra Falls Trip 9/08

One might ask, "When do we find time to work?"
Well, work is boring and traveling is much more fun, and..... Debbie gets a break from cooking and cleaning. Work will always be waiting for us when we get back. Enjoy the vacation pics.

Debbie at a quite spot in the Sacred Grove.

Steve and Debbie at Hill Cumorah.

OOPS, we cut off angel Moroni. He's the tall guy on top.

And then we were off to the Erie Canal. Doesn't look so eerie to me, just really dirty.

Inside the Smith family home in Palmyra
with all of the modern conveniences.

I think I'll get one of these for home.

Then we were off like a herd of turtles to Kirtland.

Debbie and sister Glo at the quarry where the stone was cut for the Kirtland temple.

Man, there's some really old stuff here in Kirtland.

Here is the whole vacation gang at the Whitney home where Joseph & Emma Smith lived for a time. Many revelations in the
D & C were given here.

Debbie doing some shopping at te Whitney store.
They didn't have the the Gucci purse she was looking for.
She did find some lovely horseshoe earings, however.
I guess the girls know what they are getting for Christmas.

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio.

I gotta get me one of these.

Niagra Falls on the Canadian side with Horseshoe Falls in the background

I wish they would turn it off for a minute.

The mist makes it hard to take a picture of the falls.

Debbie and big brother Larry. All dressed up and no where to go but into the falls.

Finally, our last stop to Old Fort Niagra, the oldest original standing building in North America with some very old and tired sitting north americans.

We had a blast but were glad to get back home to the dogs and the kid.

Rigby Family reunion 2008 in Banff, Canada

Debbie and the female-in-laws on top of the world in Banff, Canada.
Aren't they a good lookin' bunch and so young looking.

We finally got Tyler to smile.
He must be hiding something from mom and dad or he just saw a cute girl.

The boys and grampas at Lake Louise.
We couln't find Louise. Check out the legs!!

Brrrrrrrr. Hurray and take the picture, I wore shorts.
